NEW TO ST LUKE'S OR JUST VISITING ....
Maybe you are returning to church, or coming to the church for the very first time, you may even be an active church member who has just moved into the area and needs to find a new church home. The truth is that whatever your story might be, coming into any church for the first time can be really intimidating.
what time are the services? ... how long do the services last? ... what should I wear? ... where do I park? ... where am I supposed to sit? ... is there anything for my kids? ... These are just a few of the questions that people have asked us before joining with us for a service and so here are a few answers to those questions ... hope it helps!
- What Time Are Our Sunday Services ...
-
Our
Sunday morning worship service starts at 10:00am and finishes around
11:30am. Our Sunday evening service is a lot more relaxed and starts at
6:00pm and finishes at about 7:30pm, however what we find is that after
the evening celebration service people often stay around, chatting and drinking tea
or coffee in the lounge area.
What Should I Wear .... - You probably won't see a lot of people wearing suits and ties on Sundays, that is because most people at St Luke's prefer to wear casual dress. When people ask us what they should wear to church we just say wear what you are comfortable in ... and to be honest we think that God is more interested in what's on the inside than what's on the outside!
- Where Do I Sit ...
It might seem a really odd question but in some churches visitors are expected to sit in certain places and should a visitor sit anywhere else they receive an odd look or two .... no fear at St Luke's we don't mind where you sit, just find a comfortable seat and make it your own ....
Where Do I Park ...
There is ample parking available at both the front and the back of the church premises as well as ample off-site parking nearby. If you are disabled then we have set aside reserved parking right at the front of the church to enable easy access into the main building ... actually parking your car should never be a problem.
Is There Anything For My Children ..
Of course! We have Sunday options for younger children which includes special times of worship designed just for the younger kids
And Finally ....
Sometimes before people come they wonder "What kind of people the church is made up" of, in answer to that you'll see a lot of pretty ordinary people, some children, some older and then some who are more mature in years. Most come from the local area and from a variety of walks of life. What you will find is that many of them enjoy learning about God and being around each other in a relaxed atmosphere.
Why don't you pay us a visit it would be really good to see you .... God Bless.
