Wakefield is 10 miles to the west and Doncaster is 10 miles to the east, while Pontefract is the same distance to the north. A little farther south lie Barnsley, Rotherham and Sheffield. |

- ST LUKE'S APPOINTS A NEW ASSISTANT PASTOR
- We are delighted to announce the appointment of Steve Ward as assistant pastor. Steve and his wife Shelley have been a part of St Luke's for over 5 years serving over the last 2 years as youth pastor. Martyn Sullivan our senior pastor said that he was "looking forward to doing exploits together with Steve".
Steve's induction service will take place on October 10th at 6:00pm ... why not come and join us ...

- COMMUNITY FUN DAY - 29TH AUGUST - BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND
- Bank Holiday Weekend at St Luke's was no ordinary weekend ... with free rides, a Rodeo Bull, Hog Roast as well as a whole range of other activities the event was a real success. Not only was the weather good but the fun day was attended by over 500 people .... Rumour has it that the church is under pressure to make this event an annual event !!!! Some local people leaving the event at the end of the day was overheard saying ... " unbelievable, and almost everything was free ... we had a right laugh "
COMING SOON ... NEW VIDEO STUDIO
- With its increasing use of media St Luke's is well on the way to opening up a new video studio, with facilities for a 3 camera shoot as well as full chroma-keying screens the studio is expected to be a great assett.
